ITINERARY

Day 01: Cuzco (City Tour + Nearby Ruins)
AM. Breakfast. Arrival to the city of Cuzco, the ARCHAEOLOGICAL CAPITAL OF AMERICA. We will meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Welcome and acclimatization with the traditional "Mate de coca".
At the indicated time we will start the tour through the city, from the “PLAZA DE ARMAS” (PARADE GROUND), which was outlined by the founder of the Inca Empire and is currently surrounded by three types of architecture: Inca Palace - Colonial Mansions - Republican Construction; THE CATHEDRAL where paintings from the Cuzqueña School and Renaissance are found; and the KORICANCHA a complex dedicated to the "Sun" the main god of the Inca Empire. Afterwards we will visit the area of SACSAYHUAMAN, formed by four archaeological complexes: TAMBOMACHAY, the main worship place to the "Water" element, also known as the Inca Baths; the fortress of PUCAPUCARA, a military Center; the Amphitheater of QUENQO, a palpable sample of the character of the men of that era; and finally the Fortress of SACSAYHUAMAN, the main area which had multiple functions (Fortress, Religious Center, Lodging Center).
PM. At the indicated time returns to the hotel. Overnight in Cuzco.




Day 02: Cuzco (Sacred Valley) (*)
AM. Breakfast. Transfer to the SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS located between the mountain ranges of Vilcanota and Salkantay at 2.700 m.a.s.l.. During the journey we will visit typical towns as PISAQ, at 32 Km. from Cuzco and characteristic by its market or craftsmen fair in the main square. Continuing along the bank of the URUBAMBA River, we will appreciate magnificent landscapes until reaching the town of the same name, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley and was as Pre-Hispanic Agricultural Center.
PM. Lunch in Urubamba. Afterwards we will go to the Inca town of OLLANTAYTAMBO, located in the western end of the Urubamba Valley, and is characteristic by the magnificence of its buildings in the upper part and the distribution of the terracing and deposits. Finally, we will visit the CHINCHEROS town also famous for its handicrafts fair. At the indicated time, return to the hotel. Overnight in Cuzco.



Day 03: Cuzco / Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu)
AM. Breakfast. At the indicated time we will transfer to the station to take the Backpackers train that will take us through the URUBAMBA VALLEY to the ARCHAEOLOGIC SANCTUARY OF MACHU PICCHU at 112 Km. from Cuzco. During the journey we will appreciate the CANYON OF URUBAMBA, bathed by the Vilcanota River and crowned by the snow covered mountain range "La Veronica". In Machu Picchu the visit will include the Agricultural Sector (terracing), Urban Sector (religious, military buildings and houses), being remarkable the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwatana, the Temple of the Three Windows and the Sacred Stone.
Afterwards you will have free time to take pictures; and when the passengers decide to, we will start the descent to the town of Aguas Calientes.
PM. Lunch in Aguas Calientes. Free evening. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.



Day 04: Aguas Calientes / Cuzco
AM. Breakfast. This is a free day in Aguas Calientes for individual exploration. The tourist could make a new visit to Machu Picchu (transfer and pass not included) or enjoy the Thermal Baths (pass not included).
PM. At the indicated time, the passenger must take the train coming back to the city of Cuzco. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Cuzco.



Day 05: Cuzco / Lima (City Tour)
AM. Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to take your flight (not included) to the city of Lima. Reception and transfer to the hotel.
PM. At the indicated time we will start a panoramic city tour through the historical center of LIMA, presenting the PASEO DE LA REPUBLICA, the SAN MARTIN SQUARE, the GOVERNMENT PALACE, the BASILICA CATHEDRAL, the ARCHBISHOP’S PALACE, the MUNICIPAL PALACE, the CHURCH OF SANTO DOMINGO and old streets with colonial mansions and balconies of morisco style. Later on we will visit the SAN FRANCISCO’S CHURCH AND CONVENT, the main monumental group of Colonial Art of America, with its basilica of 21 altars, the convent with cloisters, the museum of profundis and the underground catacombs.
The tour continues through the most traditional residential areas of the OLIVAR of SAN ISIDRO, THE CENTRAL PARK OF MIRAFLORES and LARCO MAR, a symbol of the modern Lima, which is a privileged point to appreciate a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.
At the indicated time, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Lima.



Day 06: Lima
AM. Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer the Jorge Chavez International Airport of Lima.
